Luxembourg & Trier

Mosel Valley

20 - 26 July 2010

The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg offers a diversity

of landscape and Luxembourg City has some

exceptional buildings including the Grand Ducal

Palace with its beautiful façade, the 17th century

Notre Dame cathedral and  mediaeval houses in

the old quarter.   Historically Luxembourg was a

fortified city and the underground tunnels known as

“the casements” are certainly worth a visit.  Trier,

the oldest city in Germany, lies within the narrow

valley of the Moselle surrounded by forests and

vineyards.  The city dates back to Roman times and

the impressive Porta Nigra (Black Gate) was once

part of the city walls.
