Chateaux, gardens & wines of

the Loire

We depart Sussex early morning and travel

via the Channel Tunnel to Calais and on to the

Loire Valley, arriving at our hotel in Tours in

the early evening.   Over the next three days

we will drive through some beautiful scenery

and visit some of the manychateaux and gardens

of the Loire.

 

Built on the river Cher, where the unique beauty

of its architecture reflects in the water, the Château

de Chenonceau is probably one of the best. 

Chenonceau is not only remarkable for its

architectureand history butalsofor its fine collection

of paintings and furniture andthe formal gardens and

lovely parkland that surround the chateau. 

 

We will also enjoy tasting the differing wine styles

of the Loire. 

 

Our hotel is Hotel de l’Univers - a historic and

elegant 4* hotel in the centre of Tours, with

good restaurant,bar and bedrooms with all the

facilities expected of a good 4* hotel.
